Back button causes duplicate entries in the access management page (BB-7528)

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Goto the repo admin page
  2. Goto user access page
  3. Press Back
  4. Press Forward
  5. Entries are duplicated

    Hi,

    I am unable to reproduce this scenario locally. If the browser is unable to parse the DOM, I suspect that the problem is with the browser.

    Would you be able to tell us what version of Chrome and Windows you are using?

    Also does this problem occur for all repositories or just the one?

    Hi Seyhan,

    Thanks for the information. I've tried this on the same OS and version of Chrome and unfortunately I am still not able to reproduce it.

    I suspect that the root of the problem is the DOM Exception that is occurring on page load, this is then causing JS errors to occur elsewhere.

    Is the DOM Exception occurring for you on every page?

    Do you have any Chrome extensions that may be contributing to the error?

    I removed all extension on chrome. Whereupon , there has not occurred DOM Exception during page load in chrome console. But still continues the duplicate user. If only occurs this error me , then may be due to my local configuration.

    Hi Seyhan,

    Thanks for the extra information. It turns out the JS errors had nothing to do with the issue.

    The problem is that in order to get the back and forward buttons to work without refreshing the page, we cache the html. However our JS doesn't take this into account and that is why you are getting the duplication. I've added this bug to our backlog, please watch this issue for further updates.

    In the meantime, you can fix this problem by clicking on the 'Access management' link, or refreshing the page.
