Issue #7569 resolved

Preserve whitespace in commit messages (BB-8728)

Martin Geisler
created an issue

Please compare the display of a commit message containing whitespace:

On Bitbucket, leading whitespace (any whitespace really) is lost and this makes it hard to understand code/tracebacks/etc that are copy-pasted into the commit messages — thus ruining the careful formatting applied by the commiter.

Adding a whitespace: pre CSS rule would fix this on Bitbucket.

I would also appreciate an option to change the font to monospace, but that is something slightly different from the main issue here.

Commit messages now preserve whitespace on the commit view. After discussing it within the team, we decided not to use monospace font for commit messages.
