Trailing semicolon/email address rendering in commit message (BB-9404)

Jed Brown avatarJed Brown created an issue

I use tags in commit messages to acknowledge people that contributed. For example,

Reported-by: Best Tester <best@tester.net>

The bitbucket website tries to linkify these addresses, but it includes the last angle bracket in the link and it adds a trailing semicolon to the commit message, yielding

Reported-by: Best Tester <best@tester.net>;

Example: https://bitbucket.org/petsc/petsc/commits/ed938b00aafbc8619c94f12cc845a1c4a3fa2bcd

    Hi Jed,

    Thanks for raising this. I've reproduce the problem locally and narrowed down the issue. Unfortunately, its not a trivial fix.

    I'll add this to the backlog and we'll take a further look when we can.

    Cheers, Brian
