Issue #9050 resolved

cannot access repository page. Redirects to /admin for the repo

Nikolaj Hjelm Kaplan
created an issue

We have a team with 8 users. All have admin access. We have a number of private repositories. Some where created as user-repos and afterwards transfered to the team.

When a user who has not created the repo and only has access to the repo due to the team membership is trying to access the repo page, he will be redirected to the admin-page. The workaround is to add the user explicitly (he can do this himself) as an admin on the repo.

    Hi Nikolaj,

We weren't able to reproduce the issue on our end.

I think debugging this issue is going to require us to know exactly what team, users, and repos are involved. If you're still running into this issue, please send an email to support@bitbucket.org with that information.

    Thanks!

Sorry about that, it seems I spoke too soon.

It sounds like there are two issues here:

    1. Transferring a repository to a team preserves the old permissions and doesn't prompt you to add your team's groups to the repo. We've since fixed this and now prompt you to add specific permissions to the repo when it's transferred.

    2. Team admins don't get access to a team's repository unless they're explicitly added to it. This is still an issue, and in the meantime we suggest you create a normal group for those users and explicitly add that group to the repository.

If you have any other questions, please let me know (and don't worry about emailing support@bitbucket.org). Thanks!
