Issue #10167 resolved

Wiki Creole page rendering is too expensive and times out (BB-11067)

Stijn Herreman
created an issue

Originally reported here, it may occur that a wiki page fails to render properly. In my case, I was using Firefox 31 and a hard refresh (Ctrl-F5) did not help. Another user reports that he's seen it happen in Chrome and a regular refresh helped.

The issue eventually resolved itself.

The Creole rendering is done on the server side. Did you see a direct correlation between the issue happening and the browser used? Or was this a very intermittent, unreproducible issue?

What happens here is that the Creole rendering sometimes takes too long on our side. This part of the request is capped to a maximum of 2 seconds and if that is exceeded, the raw, unrendered data is returned.

I'll have a closer look to see why it is taking so long to render that ReleaseNotes page.
