Code in markdown list is not rendered correctly (BB-12553)

The following gf-markdown markup is not rendered correctly:

* Item 1
    - Item 1.1

      ```
      # example code for item 1.1
      ```
    - Item 1.2
* Item 2

The example code for item 1.1 should be indented to appear below item 1.1. (see screenshot) but it looks like the following:

• Item 1

• • Item 1.1

# example code for item 1.1

• • Item 1.2
• Item 2

In my opinion it's very important to display code correctly in a coding wiki. I can't see how to change the markup to get the code indented.
