Latest Commit Time Wrong Using Git Log -1 Command

Let me start out by saying this is important because I am using BitBucket for a class and we are using the last commit time as proof that a project was turned in on time.

The problem:

I push and the recent activity section shows the correct day but when I view the raw commit page it shows the following day as well as when I use the command git log -1. There may be a reason for this but I need something concrete to show my instructor. Is there a way to show the time a push was made to BitBucket?
