Zenodo is a great new project (supported by CERN and the EU) to make code citeable. They already integrate with GitHub, but I would love to make my Bitbucket repositories citeable as well. I'm guessing this will require an effort from both Bitbucket and Zenodo.

    +1 from me, too.

I'm currently writing/updating some instructions on using bitbucket for open science. After telling people ‘use because... reasons’ and walking them through the process of creating accounts, I have to rather lamely say ‘and Zenodo is good, but to use it you have to use GitHub because bitbucket don't support Zenodo’.
