Ability to test configuration before committing Pipelines YAML

Issue #12895 open

During the initial configuration of a pipeline there is a lot of changes that need to be made to the configuration file, it would be nice if I could test the configuration without having to commit them.

Is this something that is going to be worked on? Changing the name is cool but I really would like to not burn through the build minutes configuring a complex application. Not trying to be snarky just want to point out this is important.

    Thanks for the feedback, Vince.

This specific approach is pretty far down our list to work on, but we're thinking about other ways to give evaluators more time/free minutes to get set up with Pipelines. This sounds like it is your specific problem.

At the moment, the best option we have is to add a credit card - it's just $10 to get 1000 mins which hopefully isn't too much if you're building a complex application for work. Not ideal, and we'll take your feedback into account for our future planning.

Okay, that is fine. Obviously we love the idea of running builds through the service and we already upgraded. The price is not to bad also. I would only suggest you put it in your prioritized backlog and start working on it. Otherwise you might lose some of the fan base.

Any progress on this? I was testing pipelines, I don't want to use it and now can't seem to get rid of the build failing message as a result.

Would also like this to no longer exist..don't need old pipeline messages clogging my dashboard

Added a wrong pipeline to a wrong project. Shouldn't there be a possibility for non-attentive users, like me, to remove an old pipeline, along with the history, and to start from the clean scratch?
