build indicator is grayed out for merge commits

This isn't an issue per say, but is kind of annoying. If you have something updating your build status (like pipelines which is where I hit it) and the build status gets set for a merge commit, the build status icon will be grayed out with the rest of the line.

The icon still function fine, it just looks kind of out of place with the other icons, but still it's in place with the rest of the grayed out merge commit. Not sure which way to go on this, but wanted to bring it up either way.
