Image embed in comments does not work if image name contains parenthesis ED-1643

When the image name contains a markdown reserver character such as parenthesis (), the embed code breaks.
Workaround would be to escape the special characters using backlash. However, this only works when using the old editor and not the rich text Atlassian Editor.
