[Hg] New source browser lists closed branches instead of open ones

I was just prompted to try the new source browser for one of the repositories I handle.
We use a Mercurial repo.

It's on default branch, but I wanted to select another one. That's when the dropdown menu listed hundreds of branches (which have long been closed) but the open ones were nowhere to be found.

This is a silly bug I'm sure, but it's a serious one in terms of user experience.
