Issue #16567 new
Wayne Wallace created an issue

Went to add an SSH key to my profile and each time I attempt to say Save, it just hangs without any response for over 10 minutes....

    I have the same problem currently. It is still hanging after 2 days, and it's not reflected in a status page that it is any problem with Bitbucket.

    @Wayne Wallace I found out that the problem is because server returns 400 during adding SSH key and it's not handled. My case was about having the same key in another account. I would recommend you to check 400 response in network console (the browser's one).

    I have had this issue with a brand new, just created key, so this isn't restricted to keys that are used on another account.

    I see this too - as @Dawid Pura says, the server responds with HTTP 400 and the body below, but no error is displayed, and the UI "hangs".

    * key
      * Someone has already added that SSH key.

    The javascript console shows the following, so there is probably some attempt to do something with the error:

    Uncaught Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: * key
      * Someone has already added that SSH key.

    Interesting - using a different key resolved it for me (I'd forgotten that I had indeed used that key on a different account...)

    What type of key are you trying to use? Mine is 8192-bit RSA.
