Use ./.bitbucket/ folder to locate pipelines.yml

GitHub have this feature - you can put all the GitHub specific files to the .github/ folder of your project.

The bitbucket-pipelines.yml is Bitbucket specific file. Can pipelines search for its YML file in the .bitbucket/pipelines.yml location too?

Why this is a good feature.

  • I have two shell files per project - .bitbucket/pipelines-build.sh and .bitbucket/pipelines-deploy.sh. I wish I could put the YML file into the same folder.
  • If they all in the same folder - I can safely put them into the git subrepo, or npm package, or else. Basically, this would allow me to write the scripts once and reuse! Otherwise, I have to go through all my repos and update the three files as needed, which is time consuming.

Thanks for reaching out and for the suggestion.

Given our current priorities, this is unlikely to be something that we work on any time soon. However, in the meantime, I'll open this ticket to gauge the interest of other users on this functionality.
