Pushes and pulls to git require multiple (3 - 5) entries of password to succeed (5 with LFS)

Roughly 1-2 months ago this behaviour just appeared, roughly during the same times as the something like "we will no longer accept TLS" -prompt appeared.

I am worried this creates a security issues, since naturally one becomes inclined to copy paste the password so one can enter it fast with each push. Screen capture. Overlookers.

Generally I am surprised at the amount of times Open SSH seems to communicate with BitBuckets auth-layer, but that aside,

QUESTION: can this behaviour be fixed, so I am not prompted with OpenSSH prompts multiple times before being able to push or pull?
