Allow creation of Pipelines variables on project level

Issue #18579 duplicate
Leonardo Montiel staff created an issue

Today on Bitbucket it's possible to create account environment variables and repository environment variables, which help with scope control for Pipelines.
However, this is currently not possible for projects.

This feature request requests the ability to add environment variables at a project level.

We currently use Projects so that each development team within the enterprise can limit its visibility to the repos it owns. Project level variables would be very useful for defining shared variables across the repositories owned by a team. At present the only options are to manually replicate the shared variables as Repository Variables (which is highly error prone) or set them as Account Variables (which creates information leakage).

Thanks for reaching out and for the suggestion.

We're currently tracking this request on issue #14959 - I encourage you to vote for / watch that ticket if it's something that you're interested in. Given the low interest in the request so far however, it's unlikely we'll work on support for this anytime soon.

    Hi Aneita,

Thanks for identifying the duplicate. I was wondering why others had not run into this issue. Looking at the other open issues there are a few related to reuse that will become impediments to our roll out. I’ve voted for them but can you give me a sense of how many up-votes it takes to get an issue fixed and what kind of time frames we are looking at?

    Regards,
