    Description

When I first signed into Bitbucket cloud, it took a good while for me to learn that there was even a dashboard. The signup process ended on my profile page at https://bitbucket.org/<username> - where I saw the below screen:

I had been invited to work on a specific project, so I expected to see the repositories I’d been granted access to here.

Only recently, I’ve learned that there’s a page for viewing the repositories I can contribute to at https://bitbucket.org/dashboard/repositories . Why isn’t that mentioned on the profile page? Why don’t any of my branches show up on the profile’s repositories page? To be honest the profile pages look very authoritative, so I didn’t even consider the possibility that there were some other dashboard or some other Repositories page on the site.

Please add a link to https://bitbucket.org/dashboard/repositories alongside Create your first repo and Import a repository from GitHub .

Alternatively, here are some other suggestions that I think could help with this issue. In no particular order:

      1. add text explaining how this page differs from the dashboard’s repositories (I still don’t know what the difference is)
      2. add a link to a confluence page in the https://confluence.atlassian.com/get-started-with-bitbucket/work-on-a-repository-861185298.html section explaining how to find the repositories I’ve been given access to. There currently isn’t any such page so that would have to be created too
      3. mention using the search feature to find a repository, or that search can take you directly to https://bitbucket.org/dashboard/repositories
      4. change the text at the top of the viewport and in the left sidebar from Repositories to something more specific
        1. assuming that I understand the difference between the two pages correctly, perhaps Repositories I've Created would make it clear that these are not necessarily repositories I contribute to, but rather repositories which I personally own
      1. display the word Dashboard next to the button that takes you to the dashboard
      2. display the word Dashboard in the tooltip for the button that takes you to the dashboard
      3. add a new button labeled e.g. Leave Profile, informing me that I am not currently looking at the dashboar
