Closed branches shown for repositories

I'm following a development model where I create a new branch for each new feature, and then close the branch once the changes have been commited to the main branch. This means I am building up lots of closed (dead) branches.

The hg command line tools like "hg branches" hide closed branches by default, which is good.

The bitbucket page does not, and I think it should.
