Like GitHub does to keep the supposedly private sourcecode secure and completely private.
Doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to implement. And it might help attract paid accounts.
I might be misunderstanding here, but aren't we already using HTTPS? E.g. my clone URL for bitbucket is https://firstname.lastname@example.org/jespern/bitbucket/

It's been a while, but I believe I meant that http://www.bitbucket.org/username/privaterepo/src/ and its links should default to HTTPS.
Ah, right. Guess we could use https globally for logged-in users? Jesper, does that sound like a solution?
Bitbucket has been HTTPS only for a while now, resolving this.
