Issue #2514 wontfix

README file in "Source" tab

Hello, It would be interesting if in the "Source" tab of a repository the content of a different file from README could be seen. This is important for a projects in other language than English or for an important information in other file no named README. The name of the file to show the content could be configured via the "Admnin" tab.

Thanks

    Hi Jose,

I understand that README is not the best filename for non-english speakers. However the more configuration we add in the administration section the more confusing it becomes. We are striving (sometimes unsuccessfully to keep the administration section simple).

The global development community certainly gets some english imposed on them in the form of 'for', 'if', 'while', etc... I am hoping that README is just another one of those places where developers will just understand what its for.

    Thanks for your understanding,

    Dylan

Sorry but I disagree with "...the more configuration we add in the administration section the more confusing it becomes" (unless you mean simplicity of bitbucket source code). If the help and explanation texts in administration section are clear, the number of configuration options does not affect the confusion or easy to use, I think. About the README file, in some projects this file is contained in the doc/ forlder but not in the root directory, so I think that a file selection option could be useful.

    Cheers
