Issue #3185 resolved

Wrong author name

David David
created an issue

My commits that have been merged into from a pull request show my local username with the local machine name I was working on. See https://bitbucket.org/jmurty/jets3t/changesets

I don't see a way to change this into showing my real name.

    Hi David,

You can setup an alias for your repository that maps your committer string to your actual user.

You can find this in the admin section under username aliases.

Also, if you have write permission to the repo you should see a little question mark next the commit author. Clicking this will take you to the alias screen with the commit string pre-filled.

    I hope this helps,

    Dylan

    Dylan,

Thanks for your comment. I did this already, but this only works for my own repository, but not the thirdparty repository my changes haven been pulled to.
