To offer the possibility to specify a sidebar for a wiki page by selecting another wiki page that defines a side navigation. One way of adding a sidebar would be to use a macro as for the table of content.

The wiki is not a priority at the moment, and even if it were I don't think this is a feature we'd be looking to add. It's too esoteric, I'm afraid.

We always appreciate suggestions, but obviously can't say "yes" to all of them. This one's a "no".

What does it mean, that this feature is too "esoteric"? It is an excellent feature, also provided by github and it helps extremely to create a big wiki with a lot of valuable information for the users of the wiki.

we would really like this feature for our team. It is cumbersome to have to go back to the TOC page every time you want to navigate and on long wiki pages you get lost really quickly.

esoteric? Bitbucket uses it in their own docs. How would one create a big WIKI without navigation? Github has it and it works really good there. Your wiki is useless if people can't navigate on it.
