Issue #4409 resolved

Add multiple attachments (BB-5037)

Aryeh Leib Taurog
created an issue

I recall it was possible to attach multiple files to an issue at a time. It doesn't seem to be so any more (despite the misleading plural of the "Attach Files" submit button). This is definitely an annoyance.

n.b. Apologies if this is a dupe. I thought I'd seen an issue for this already but my queries aren't turning it up now.

You can attach multiple files in one go by ctrl/cmd-clicking on individual files in the same dialog box. I agree that it is a bit odd that you can't select one, then come back to the box and choose another. We'll be revisiting some of the usability issues introduced with the redesign again soon. I'll leave this one opened so we look into making this behavior clearer.

So you can! I had no idea that was possible, and I'm curious to see how you did that. Thanks. This is no longer an annoyance for me.

Still, I think it's a usability problem. My reference to affordances in issue #4396 applies here as well. There's no obvious indication that one can select multiple files or how one would do it. Also, I suspect most computer users don't know about ctrl/cmd-click in any context.

Attaching multiple files only seems to work if they're in the same directory. There does not appear to be any way to attach multiple files from multiple directories in one shot.

The UI for adding files since this issue was reported has changed substantially. I am going to say that the reported issue has been addressed and that any other usability issues should be reported in a new ticket.
