Unable to switch repository from private to public

Issue #5651 invalid

created an issue

After having created a private mercurial repository, I am unable to make it a public repository though the administration panel (by unchecking "This is a private repository").

As a result, I obtained the following message: "The privacy setting can't be changed at this time. We're currently updating privacy settings for this repository's downloads. Please try again later."

So, I took a look at the downloads tab, and I can read the following message: "We are currently updating the privacy flag for this repository's downloads, try again soon."

The last message is here for days, and I'm already not able to switch my repository privacy settings.

Following repository is the one I attempt to modify privacy: https://bitbucket.org/FoxLegend/opal-gui-nbp

I just opened my settings page and the checkbox is disabled. That's the only step. ;P

I'm on Chrome, OSX Yosemite. Not sure what else to say. I'm attaching a screenshot.

Actually -- is your repository a fork? The parent probably has only allowed private forks. If that's the case, we should probably surface that fact better in the UI.

Found this also because I couldnt untick the "private repository" checkbox, my repo was a fork of another private repo that only permitted private forks. I think there should be some kind of message in the UI for this, since its not really aparent.
