I have been trying to convince members of my group in my uni to switch to bitbucket. The major use we have is to store partial papers that we are working on. We generally write the paper in tex, But I discovered recently that I can convert the tex to markdown with pandoc, save that instead, and have bitbucket display the markdown. However, the markdown syntax support by bitbucket is a subset of elements provided by pandoc. The most urgent feature is the ability to recognize citations in [@cite] syntax. If we could get the markdown to expand to pandoc feature set, I can provide our group with a more convincing story to switch.
