Public activity does not include commits to group repositories

On my own profile's Activity page, I can see commits to all repositories (including repositories not under my own account), but when I look at the page without being logged in, I can only see my own repositories and not the group repositories. All the repositories are public, so I'm not sure I understand the difference. Is this intentional or just a missing feature?
