If in comments i refer code containing "Joel Martinez" that is something common for Android dev, it autolinks to user profile Joe Martinez profile, is there any way to avoid it?

    Since mentions are not rendered in code elements, I'm going to close this issue. If you have any other specific cases where mentions are being rendered incorrectly, please reopen this issue and let us know what you'd like.

    IMHO the suggested workaround is not a good one. It not only completely changes appearance which can be quite disruptive, but more importantly poses a major burden for reporters and/or maintainers (I'm currently transitioning a bug tracker).

    E.g. I have text labels with @ characters in my GUI and users do refer to them, but if they do, the rendering can be very confusing.

    The @ is very commonly used for annotations nowadays and appears quite frequently in my bug report descriptions outside of code sections.

    Some way to escape the @ sign would be very much appreciated! Sounds like a trivial thing to add. If there is any way to help, please let me know. Thanks.
