Allow project wikis to be browsable by tag or branch (BB-7407)

Issue #6195 closed

The project wiki is a source code repository so has version history, tags and branches but this is not exposed in any useful way in the UI.

For projects who want to maintain their documentation on the wiki this makes it tricky to easily maintain multiple versions of the documentation for different versions of the project because we can't easily expose these to users.

It would be great if when your wiki has more than one tag/branch in it the UI would allow you to switch between different versions of the wiki. That way users can be pointed to the documentation for version X.

Currently the only way to achieve this appears to be to clone the wiki and push it into a new project representing the documentation for a specific version of your project which is ugly to say the least.

While we don't currently have a way to switch between branches/tags in the UI, our wiki system does allow for this. For example, if you have a branch on your wiki named v1.0.0, you can access that branch using the rev query string, like so:

    https://bitbucket.org/USER/REPO/wiki/Home?rev=v1.0.0

I've added this issue to our internal tracker so we can prioritize a full feature for this. We'll keep you updated when we have more to share.

    Cheers, Michael

Any idea when this might get implemented?

Your workaround works but not very well, as soon as you navigate to another page the ?rev=blah gets lost because the wiki does not include it when rendering links
