Clicking on git submodule links does not open the linked repository (BB-7530)

When a project contains a git submodule whose repo is also located on bitbucket, this submodule is shown in the source browser with a link. Pressing this link shows (on Safari 6.0.2 on OS X 10.8) a fraud warning; when ignoring the warning you see a 404 page from bitbucket.

I expected when opening submodule links that I'm redirected to the repository in question, at least as long as this repo is on bitbucket. In case such a redirect is not possible, I'd expect to see an error telling me so, instead of seeing a 404 (very ambigous) or worse a fraud warning.
