Issue #6376 invalid

Quick file search not working on chrome (BB-7558)

It seems that the shortcut associated to the key F does not work on Chrome 23. However, I tested it with success on Firefox. Is it a known bug?

    Hi Laurent,

No, this is not a known bug.

Testing this locally with Chrome 24 on Max OS X 10.8, I am able to use the quick file search. I would be surprised if the problem could be solved by upgrading Chrome however.

Does this problem occur for any repository or just the one? Also what OS are you running with.

    Cheers, Brian

    Hello Brian,

I am running OS X 10.7.5. I have upgraded to chrome 24 but the issue still occurs on all repositories I tested. However it works with Safari and Firefox on the same system.

    Hi Laurent,

    Thanks for the information.

I suspect that there is a JS error occurring that we're missing. Would you be able to open a Javascript console (Cmd+Option+J) and see if there are any errors?

Also do you have any Chrome extensions installed?

    Cheers, Brian

Hmm, this is very puzzling. We tried to reproduce this on Mac OS X 10.6 and we were not able to do so, but I doubt this is a OS specific problem anyway.

Are you perhaps using a non-english keyboard configuration? I've tested this with the French configuration and was not able to reproduce the problem.

    Cheers, Brian

I am using a qwerty keyboard. I think I found the issue. The checkbox "Keyboard shortcuts" was disabled in my account settings... once enabled the F shortcut is working but it does not explain why the behavior was not the same on safari and firefox when the checkbox was disabled.

    Regards, Laurent

    Hi Laurent,

That is strange. I'm glad that you have resolved the issue on your end though. I have added this to our backlog to investigate this further.

    Cheers, Brian
