Issue #6523 invalid
Michael created an issue

I was able to accept an invitation to a repo from a different email address. The process is as follows:

  • I was logged into my bitbucket account under ''
  • I received an invitation to a bitbucket repo under my work email ''
  • While still logged into bitbucket under '' account, I clicked on the invitation sent to '', I now have the repo under '' account.

Not sure if this is intended.

Depends. What is the actual setup? Do you have multiple bitbucket accounts with distinct, confirmed email addresses?

I had a closer look, re-familiarized myself with that code and yes, this is intentional.

This is to cater for your use case (which is very common), where people have separate work and personal bitbucket accounts. This allow them to choose to accept the invitation under the account of their choosing.

Ah. Yes, that makes sense. I was just confused because I'm used to an invitation being linked to a particular account and if it wasn't sent to the correct email, it wouldn't work with others. Thanks for the clarification though.
