Issue #6753 wontfix

Link to my fork

Branko Vukelic
created an issue

We have a setup where each team member maintains his own fork of the master repository on team's account. We need to go between the master repository and our fork countless times during our work day. It would be super-convenient if there was link to my fork on the upstream repository's page, just like there is a link to the upstream on my fork's page, right at the top below the repository name.

The problem here is that there can be many, many forks. Where would we display it? I suggest you add a link in the repositories' README so it will appear when you visit the repository.

The problem here is that there can be many, many forks.

If it's not possible to add a link to a single repository, would it at least be possible to move the drop-down from the overview page somewhere where it would be exposed on all repository pages?

I suggest you add a link in the repositories' README so it will appear when you visit the repository.

That still means I have to travel to the overview page in order to get to the fork. What I really want is to reach the fork from any part of the upstream repository, like from an issue page, or pull request, etc.

This issue has been around for a while and hasn't gotten much traction. That, coupled with our hesitance to add even more information to the repository header, means that this won't be fixed.
