Issue #7006 closed

Create a distinct newsfeed item for tags and branching existing commits (BB-8168)

Tim Harley
created an issue

I have a git repo on bitbucket. My local git repo is fully up to date with respect to the repo on bitbucket.

Then, on some branch, do:

git tag <some_name>
git push --tags

The overview tab for the repo on bitbucket reports that I have pushed (in my instance) 24 commits, but doesn't say I have pushed a tag. Is this intended behaviour? It is slightly confusing.

Exactly what I would want Nicolas. By the way, if my description was unclear, the commit pointed to by the new tag had already been pushed, so the only new object being pushed during the command

    git push --tags

    is the tag itself.
