fatal: HTTP request failed

I got this error:

error: The requested URL returned error: 407 while accessing https://<user-name>@bitbucket.org/<user-name>/<repo-name>.git/info/refs fatal: HTTP request failed

where <user-name> is my user name and <repo-name> is the name of the repository. Also, I am behind a proxy. Someone give me pointers to how to proceed.

    From http://www.checkupdown.com/status/E407.html:

The Web server (running the Web site) thinks that the HTTP data stream sent from the client (e.g. your Web browser or our CheckUpDown robot) was correct, but access to the URL resource requires the prior use of a proxy server that needs some authentication which has not been provided. This typically means you must log in (enter user ID and password) with the proxy server first.

This issue is related to git client. it can't detect proxy configuration correctly if you are working behind a ntlm proxy.
