Issue #7569 resolved

Preserve whitespace in commit messages (BB-8728)

Martin Geisler
created an issue

Please compare the display of a commit message containing whitespace:

On Bitbucket, leading whitespace (any whitespace really) is lost and this makes it hard to understand code/tracebacks/etc that are copy-pasted into the commit messages — thus ruining the careful formatting applied by the commiter.

Adding a whitespace: pre CSS rule would fix this on Bitbucket.

I would also appreciate an option to change the font to monospace, but that is something slightly different from the main issue here.

I agree, I sometimes I write long commit messages with code snippets and other things that look better when using indentations.

I also +1 the use of a different font.
