mercurial slow "pushes" after switching to ssl (BB-8789)

I have this issue (errno 10054 connection breaks when pushing on win 7 64 tortoise hg) https://bitbucket.org/site/master/issue/3578/cannot-push-fatal-the-remote-end-hung-up\\
so I switched to ssl using this guide https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BITBUCKET/Set+up+SSH+for+Mercurial\\
but now pushing takes extremely long. I currently have 900mb commit consisting of 13 files and currently it bundles them (current state is : bundling 11/13) and it's been more than two hours. So I haven't uploaded anything in two hours. While on HTTPS it took less than a minute

Windows 7 x64, tortoise hg 2.8.1
