Issue #7674 wontfix

Email notification for commits should include the commit. (BB-8835)

Hey guys,

Back in April you announced better email notifications and I like them I really do. What I (and a few of the people on my team) would like to see is the actual commits in the commit summary email. Or rather, an option to include them.

The current email sends you a nice looking summary, but we'd really like to see that with the actual commits in there - maybe even just the files changed and the message from git log.

I'm referring to this blog post: http://blog.bitbucket.org/2013/05/07/beautiful-and-relevant-notifications/

Sorry if this is a duplicate, I looked but didn't see anything. __Andy

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for the suggestion! I've created a ticket in our internal tracker for this. I'll be sure to update this public issue when there is more to share.

    Thanks,
    Jon

Generating this information is very expensive, so we don't do it by default in the commit email broker. There's an email diff service you can use instead if you really want it.

    Thanks @jespern!

We'll look into that; i'm sure that'll be good enough. Having diffs in (some) email notifications are very handy of for our team...
