Issue #7779 resolved

Unable to import from SVN

created an issue

When I try to import either from Google Code or SVN, I get this error:

fatal: No existing author found with 'crocboy' 08:37:38 Unable to convert svn checkout to git 08:37:38 Svn checkout failed: <class 'bitbucket.apps.async.tasks.ImportException'>: Command failed. Return value: 128

In the case of importing an SVN repo, I also put in valid credentials.

What's the URL of the svn repo you're importing and what's your bitbucket username? If you're not comfortable sharing this info here, please contact us at support@bitbucket.org and mention my name.

I have trouble reproducing this issue. It is failing consistently for you on that repo? If so, can you provide me with the full output of the import log (or at least the last bit with the errors)?

You may also have received an email about the error. If so, can you forward the link that is in there?

Depends. Whether your home machine uses a proxy or not is irrelevant to bitbucket checking out code from Google.

It's hard say be more conclusive without looking more closely at the debug logging for that specific job, but considering you successfully imported it and the fact that I had no problems importing it either, you might want to just close it?

I guess this was on a fresh account with non-confirmed email - just have had the same issue with "fatal: No existing author found with" (tried two times), and after confirming email imports went fine.
