Javascript error in commit dropdown (BB-8951)

Issue #7796 resolved
Former user created an issue

When trying to change the commit point of a source file, the drop-down appears after clicking on the current commit button as usual. However, the loading image is displayed but not replaced with a list of commit points for that file. This happens in Source and Diff pages the majority of the time i attempt to use it.

After looking at the console log i have found this error: "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property '1' of null" after trying to select a new commit point.

I am using a Windows 8 PC running Google Chrome Version 28.0.1500.72 m. This isn't a major issue however it does limit the functionality of some of Bitbucket's features.

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for letting us know. I've tried to reproduce this error on my own repositories but I haven't been able to. We have received reports of this happening for other users but the problem appears to be intermittent.

I do have a couple of questions, does this error occur on all of you repositories, or is it only on particular ones. Also do you see this issue on Internet Explorer or Firefox?

    Hi Brian,

Thanks for looking into this. I can confirm that this is an issue on all repositories that i have looked at today. I have tested this on IE10 and Firefox version 22 and they don't seem to be replicating the issue.

It looks like this is an issue specific to Chrome, which i have tested with and without add-on's disabled.

    Thanks, Chris
