Issue #7989 duplicate

redirect to new url-commits after renaming

Denis Kuzmin
created an issue

Example of some problem:

  • if project as
https://bitbucket.org/<user>/project-foo

has been renamed to

https://bitbucket.org/<user>/project-bar
  • And some friendly blogs, sites, twitter, etc., have a some discussion of the detail project with published url as
https://bitbucket.org/<user>/project-foo/commits/aabd5f3b9abde677659209c801ac9b4f5e845ee4
...

So we have a some problem after renaming in /project-foo/admin:

  • will not exist all published earlier url ("Oops, you've found a dead link.")
  • +issues

so needed redirect/alias settings /project-foo/ -> /project-bar/ e.g.:

  • from:
https://bitbucket.org/<user>/project-foo/commits/aabd5f3b9abde677659209c801ac9b4f5e845ee4
  • to :
https://bitbucket.org/<user>/project-bar/commits/aabd5f3b9abde677659209c801ac9b4f5e845ee4

and other,

i.e. when user clicked old link he should see her in a new place without "Oops..." (optional, of course)
