Issue #8094 wontfix

Issue tracker for a team, rather than individual repos

Fred Drake
created an issue

We'd love to have an issue tracker for a team, for subjects that cut across the projects in individual repos.

Maybe a better way to do this would be to have some aggregate trackers.

Maybe one company has 3 teams.

-Dev team -Support team -Dev Ops

Each team might be responsible for 5 different projects, and they might want to see there 5 repos, but not the ones from other teams.

That would also be interesting, though it doesn't address the same use cases.

I'm thinking more about issues that aren't specific to exactly one project, and might be more "team issues" than project issues. (Possibly more along the lines of task management than software issues.)

If you're looking for a more advanced issue tracker or capabilities, try JIRA, which offers project based issue trackers. You can then use the DVCS connector to show commits across multiple issues and multiple projects from multiple repositories.
