    Description

I wanted to import a remote Mercurial repository as a Bitbucket Git repository. When I tried this, the "Repository Type" option was grayed out. I don't need it to import the history or commits, just the contents. It would be nice if this was possible.

This appears to be possible from Subversion at Google Code, and thus presumably could be done from Mercurial as well. I presume that Mercurial users would like to have the reverse option as well.

Suggested Feature: Allow user to select their desired new repository type, adding a note to the effect that "history will be lost" if this is selected.
