Issue #9187 resolved

Bitbucket POST hook not triggered by merging pull request or editing a file using bitbucket's web editor (BB-10237)

Joel Crocker
created an issue

Why is this not the case? Is it by design, or is this a bug? It would be very useful for CI integration to have the addition of any new commits (whether they were pushed by users using mercurial, or caused by using the bitbucket web UI) trigger the POST hook.

Gotcha. Yes, there is a known issue with Mercurial repos not firing the hooks properly under all circumstances and the online editor is one of them.

The good news is that we are working on a fix as we speak. This should go out either this week, or else at the end of next week.

Bartosz Białek the POST hook is used to communicate changes in the repo (commits, branch updates, etc). Creating or updating a pull request does not touch the repo contents (not until you actually merge it) and so this sounds like a different issue.

Could you open a separate issue detailing exactly what unexpected things you see on PR creation?

Interesting, doesn't seem to work for my git repository. The POST hook works well if I push changes via git, but does not trigger when editing the file in the browser...
