"An unexpected error occurred." during changing of workflow status for issue (BB-10435)

When developer tries to change the workflow status for any issue from "NEW" to "OPEN" the error message "An unexpected error occurred" is shown in the status popup. Please see attachments.

Not all developers of mentioned repository have such problems. We know that problem reproduced for the following developers: vadim_mihalovski, Nikolay_Kvetko.

The following issue can be used to reproduce the error.

We also find similar issues created by other developers for bitbucket issue tracker:, but no solution are provided for them.

    Hi Ivan,

    I think I've figured out what's going on here. When updating an issue, we want to make sure the user has a confirmed email address. However, we have a bug right now so the request will fail if the user has any unconfirmed emails. Can you ask the developers that were having issues if they have any unconfirmed email addresses? They should be able to fix this if they either confirm or remove those addresses.

    This is a bug, so we will be fixing this correctly. However, due to our performance problems last week, it may be a few days before we have this fully deployed. Let me know if you are able to work around this bug, and we'll post an update here when this is fixed on our side.

    Thank you for your fast reply. This workaround works for us. Our developers have confirmed the email addresses for bitbucket account and now all works fine.
