The merge tag was not implemented in Engine because it is not part of the 1.2 specification.
Nevertheless, it is widely used and it can implemented as an option in the Core Schema.
The merge will not work in the JSON Schema (which is currently the default)

I often combine the release with SnakeYAML. If it is required, we can release it earlier
If you don’t mind, at least some kind of snapshot version will be very great!
