Issue #169 resolved

Unable to build -- ImportError: No module named simplejson

Hi David,

Apologies if my comments are not helpful -- I do not know Python, nor am I a developer.

I followed the Setup instructions (including setting up the Source Tree) and failed to build. I get errors that stem from the following:

Building target “Murky” of project “Murky” with configuration “Debug” [etc...]

/bin/sh -c /Users/Ginger/Library/Murky/build/Murky.build/Debug/Murky.build/Script-37915E6310E900A00057D687.sh Traceback (most recent call last): File "./Localize.py", line 63, in <module> import simplejson as json ImportError: No module named simplejson

I'm running Python 2.6.5. I tried the "import json" command and it works. "import simplejson" gives the same ImportError as above.

Any ideas why "import json" is breaking?

Thanks,

Ginger

    Hmm, json was added to python 2.6 so it should import.

    Are you on Snow Leopard or did you install 2.6 on Leopard?

    Let me know if you're able to build if you change Localize.py to just import json:

    #try:
    #    #python2.6+
    #    import json
    #except ImportError:
    #    #python2.5
    #    import simplejson as json
    import json

    Thanks for working on this.

    David -- It didn't build after changing Localize.py to

    #try:
    # #python2.6+
    # import json
    #except ImportError:
    # #python2.5
    # import simplejson as json

    import json

    ImportError: "No module named json"

    Also, I installed Python 2.6.5 on Leopard.
