Update server Ubuntu Linux system software

Need to pay attention to server software updates!

Steps:

1) Turn off the server 2) Create a "due diligence" AMI backup 3) Restart the server 4) Update the system software 5) Reboot 6) Review health of web services; log into server via SSH to review status; fix any issues or if server health is compromised by update, revert to old backup 7) If healthy server, repeat steps 1 - 3 to generate an OS updated AMI 8) Clean out old AMI's, orphan volumes and snapshots

Ubuntu OS updated as of July 7th, 2015. I won't completely close this issue since we may need to repeat the procedure in the future.
