Web Browser compatibility with GBK interface

The initial interface, in particular, 'DataTable' results(?), doesn't seem to work well enough with the full range of browsers: it works fine with Firefox, but IE, Chrome and Safari may be problematic.
Front end technology choices (e.g. Jade, DataTable) need to be reviewed for browser compatibility.

Tested in Safari, Firefox, Chrome on a Mac with no problems. Good enough for now. If we ever get an Internet Explorer user and if they complain we will revisit.
