I follow 382 accounts, and into my "recommendations" are some of the accounts that I follow, I don't think that it would be a recommendation

Yeah, that can happen actually. You can interpret it as "I should really check that story" But thanks for bringing it up, we will discuss whether this is really the best way how to do things...

Well, I supposed that it is ok, due the post recommended, are not in the feed in the position that it will be in a regular feed. so is like the twtter feature that show you some tweets that you don't reach before.

We considered what to do with posts recommended by Steeve which are also in user's normal feed. We think that by marking them as recommended we are still giving some useful extra information. This explanation can be also found if you click on the red 'recommendation' corner.

Anyway, if it caused too much confusion in the future, we would definitely change it.
