ICT development team standards / Project tracking

Each ICT project (whether it's a PMO project or an internal BAU/CI project) should be linked to a set of versions of applications. The versions should be named for the project. Take, for example, the Academic Profiles 2015 project. That might be comprised of:

  • RPM ("APO 2015 Honoraries" version)
  • RPM ("APO 2015 PhD profiles" version)
  • Academic Profiles Web service ("APO 2015 Honoraries" version)
  • Academic Profiles Web service ("APO 2015 PhD profiles" version)
  • Academic Profiles Frontend ("APO 2015 Honoraries" version)
  • Academic Profiles Frontend ("APO 2015 PhD profiles" version)
  • etc.

We would then create a filter that links all those versions, and keep it updated as the project progresses (for the above example, the filter would be called "Academic Profiles 2015"). This filter then defines the Technical Requirements for the project, and allows us to track the % complete on the project.
